Yeoval EL 6311
The Yeoval tenement of 49 units, 147km² is located on the historic Orange-Dubbo road in the central part of the Lachlan Fold Belt. Situated north of Orange and north of Cadia, Cadia East, the Ridgeway Mine (Newcrest), the Newmont joint venture, east of the Northparkes Mine and west of Copper Hill; Yeoval is located in a renowned porphyry copper–gold province.
It contains approximately 75 previously worked copper-gold and molybdenum mines at the turn of the century using rudimentary mining techniques incapable of exploiting lower grade, high tonnage mineralisation, especially at depth. The target is for Northparkes style porphyry copper-gold deposits. Several targets are delineated for more detailed geochemistry followed by drilling.
- Drill existing Yeoval target of 37Mt @ 0.3% copper (as calculated by North Broken Hill-Hastings NL) at depth and along strike to define a JORC compliant resource.
- The Yeoval project includes both low grade and high grade components. Previously intersected, higher tonnage lower grade intersections included 43m @ 0.93% copper while lower tonnage, high grade intersections included 2.8m @ 2.2% copper.
- Gold, associated with copper, is understood to be present but to date has not been assayed extensively. Augur expects the value of any the gold to be reflected in its additional drilling and assaying of its Yeoval project.
- Molybdenum is known to occur throughout the Yeoval district. Molybdenum occurs similarly to copper in a disseminated nature. Its value, like gold, is expected to be quantified by any future work.
- Other Yeoval “look-alike” targets, of which Augur has identified at least eight exist as less mature, albeit equally as exciting exploration opportunities and will be followed up as part of the company’s two year exploration program.
